Okonomiyaki is a Japanese street food classic — kind of like a savory pancake, but way more exciting. The name means “grill it how you like it,” and that’s exactly the spirit of the dish.
There are many regional variations across Japan, each with its own twist. At Okoya, we serve a variation of the Osaka / Kansai-style Okonomiyaki. It’s made by mixing shredded cabbage, flour, egg, and other ingredients into a batter, then grilling it until golden and fluffy.
We top it off with our homemade sauce, japanese mayo, aonori, pickled ginger, and (if you like) bonito — all the good stuff.
It’s crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and honestly kind of addictive.
